The company is rolling out new capabilities for the Wind River Studio Operator which provides a cloud native, Kubernetes-based distributed cloud architecture for managing the full lifecycle of distributed networks from the core to the edge.
In particular, this new product enhances both 5G and enterprise networks with automation and virtual radio access network (vRAN) optimization.
vRAN enables RAN workloads to run on general-purpose servers. With Wind River, service providers can support mission-critical edge applications like connected cars with optimized vRAN support and automation, including real-time over-the-air software updates.
