IBM: Agentic AI with Agentic Frameworks, Architecture, Models, and the watsonx.ai Studio

An Intellyx Brain Candy Update

We last covered IBM in March 2024 when it spoke about its Hybrid Cloud Mesh at last year’s Mobile World Congress.

At this year’s Mobile World Congress, IBM’s emphasis was on agentic AI.

IBM’s agentic AI story has many facets:

  • Agentic frameworks – the design models that define how agents can perform tasks, make decisions, and interact with their environment autonomously
  • Agentic architecture – the structure and design of AI frameworks to support and regulate the behavior of generative AI agents.
  • The IBM Granite family of AI models – IBM’s contribution to the family of open large language models (LLMs), now at version 3.2
  • The IBM watsonx.ai AI studio – a comprehensive developer toolkit that supports the AI development lifecycle.

IBM also places its software offerings within the context of its consulting services to deliver the most value to its enterprise customers.
