Aeris: Global Vendor-Agnostic IoT Connectivity Platform

An Intellyx Brain Candy Update

We last covered Aeris in March 2022. In 2023, the company acquired the IoT Accelerator and Connected Vehicle Cloud businesses and related assets from Ericsson, transforming Aeris into a global IoT powerhouse.

The ‘new’ Aeris offers a global IoT connectivity platform that competes with Cisco’s portfolio of Industrial IoT solutions, but unlike Cisco, Aeris is vendor-agnostic.

The Aeris platform includes a global cellular core network, which unlike competing network offerings on the market, is not carrier-owned. Aeris is thus carrier-agnostic as well as vendor-agnostic.

Aeris’s control over the network gives it access to massive quantities of data, which it is able to monetize in various ways, including for data-hungry AI applications.

Aeris serves its enterprise clientele mostly via carrier partners, offering mission-critical IoT solutions for connected car applications in automotive, smart meter applications in utilities, and other IoT deployments that require massive scale.
