Panoply: Smart Data Warehouse that Smartens up AWS Redshift

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

The data warehouse marketplace has been mature for a number of years. Perhaps the biggest news to hit this space in the last decade is Amazon.com’s launch of AWS Redshift. This cloud-based data warehouse as-a-Service gives AWS customers the scalability and pay-as-you-go benefits they’ve come to expect from the cloud.

In spite of the general level of maturity in the data warehouse market and Redshift in particular, Panoply has gained rapid customer traction with its data warehouse offering that currently runs on top of Redshift in AWS.

Panoply’s three-part secret: First, natural language processing-based modeling that learns, models, and automates various data management activities. Second, continuous reindexing with machine learning that gets better automatically over time. And third: storage optimization for Amazon S3, which acts as a data lake in support of the Panoply data warehouse.

And we ain’t seen nothin’ yet – Panoply has further innovations on its roadmap that will take its solution to the next level. Stay tuned.
