Sentry: Performance and Error Tracing for Developers

An Intellyx Brain Candy Update

We last covered Sentry in December 2019. Since that time, the vendor has focused its efforts on supporting developers with its error tracking and performance monitoring tool.

Unlike other monitoring tools, Sentry’s focus is on code rather than infrastructure. The tool includes real user monitoring (RUM) which helps the developer understand the code-based causes of problems at the user interface.

Sentry integrates with popular ticketing systems, chatbots, and alert management applications, empowering its users to resolve the issues it uncovers using existing processes and technologies.

Sentry’s offering is entirely open source, and the company’s business model centers on its cloud-based subscription offering.
