Imply: Build Analytics Applications on the Druid Real-Time & Batch OLAP Database

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

Apache Druid is an open source online analytical processing (OLAP) database that supports both traditional batch as well as real-time streaming data. It has become the predominant open-source product in this category.

Imply helps to drive the Druid project and offers an enterprise offering based on Druid. This offering provides management, support, and services for a Druid-based DBaaS service.

Imply’s particular focus is supporting developers who are building analytics-based applications. This focus differs from typical OLAP-centric vendors who provide analytics tools for data analysts.

This developer experience simplifies data ingestion by providing a single API endpoint for push-based ingestion. Imply also offers a built-in Kafka streaming service and a visualization tool.
