Percona was at KubeCon NA 2022 demonstrating an open source Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platform with Kubernetes operators that can deploy, control, and tune multiple databases, whether in cloud infrastructure or on-premises in a private cloud form factor.
Operators can leverage the metrics, self-service deployment capabilities, and recommendations of the platform for optimizing the cost-to-performance ratio and checking data security settings across relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and document-oriented (MongoDB) data sources.
Percona has also written their own open source, fully functional MySQL replacement for companies seeking to cut operational expenses without maintenance fee surprises and performance compromises.
Companies who are short-handed on DBAs for greenfield applications or major migrations can engage with the firm’s white-glove fully managed services for architecture, design, performance tuning and cost optimization, in addition to operational multi-database support.
