DataDog’s new capabilities for automation, security, and monitoring streaming

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

Datadog, a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring and Observability, talked at their booth at the AWS Summit in New York July 26 about their new offerings in the areas of application security, workflow automation, and streaming monitoring.

These new products are natural extensions to their current monitoring and observability products, and their customers have been asking for them, they said.

Monitoring data streams such as Kafka, Solace, and AWS Kinesis closes a current gap in the industry.

Other companies offer application security and workflow automation tools, but the advantage in going with DataDog for these capabilities is the tight integration with the core DataDog product.

The workflow automation tool is tightly integrated with the DataDog system and can be used to create an automated workflow to respond to incidents and events.

The application security feature integrates with DataDog to identify vulnerable code at runtime, including vulnerable open source libraries, and can block suspicious traffic when detected.
