An Intellyx Brain Candy Update
We last covered Elastic in April 2023. Today, the enterprise search powerhouse is launching the ElasticSearch Query Language, or ES|QL.
ES|QL is a piped query language, which means that operators can string queries together where the output of one is the input of the next.
ES|QL also works with unstructured as well as structured data, thus differentiating itself from the popular Structured Query Language (SQL).
Operators can leverage ES|QL to join data from any accessible location without moving them, thus differentiating ES|QL from extract, transform, and load (ETL) solutions.
Elastic is releasing ES|QL as open-source with the intention of establishing it as foundational enterprise technology.
