Intellyx last covered NETSCOUT in July 2023, but we’ve been working with the company for years.
At last month’s Mobile World Congress, the company promoted its ‘Smart Data’ solutions for network visibility across mobile network operators’ (MNOs’) networks end-to-end.
NETSCOUT’s Smart Data consists of enriched packet data it obtains through deep packet inspection. The enrichment takes place in real-time and adds essential context to the data.
For any IP-based network (in other words, all enterprise and telco networks), packets represent the most complete and detailed source of information for network visibility.
For MNOs, this level of visibility provides valuable insights into network behavior for NetOps and SecOps service assurance personnel, just as NETSCOUT provides to its enterprise customers.
In addition, NETSCOUT provides visibility into user behavior, as all call data are in the packets. MNOs can thus use NETSCOUT to garner intelligence for upsell and cross-sell purposes, monetization, identifying malicious user or bot behavior, and more.
