TechSee: Combining Computer Vision and Generative AI to Provide Augmented Reality Tech Experts

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

TechSee leverages a combination of computer vision and generative AI to provide hands-on tech support to users via real-time augmented reality interfaces.

The TechSee-based app shows an interactive virtual agent avatar. Users simply point their camera at some device (a vacuum cleaner, say), and the app recognizes the device, its components, and any writing on it (via OCR), and then helps the users accomplish their task by providing a conversational explanation (for example, how to replace a filter), guiding users as needed in case they make mistakes.

The app is then able to verify that users have properly followed the instructions by looking at the device. The app can also conversationally solicit product registration information, thus increasing the chance customers will register their purchases.

TechSee is currently targeting B2C applications for consumer electronics companies and retailers, but is also building its B2B business with field service agents. TechSee apps can provide smart meter installation instructions, for example, or verify that cable technicians did their jobs right.
