An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
Napster offers an AI-driven business intelligence platform that enables its customers to build conversational avatars that retain the memory of end user interactions, thus allowing them to keep track of conversations from channel to channel.
The current Napster has no relationship to the historic music sharing company of the same name, other than acquiring the brand and implementing with the company hopes is an equally disruptive offering.
Napster’s conversational avatars are state of the art. Napster’s customers can train them to serve many different roles, including customer service reps, retail support kiosk avatars, or emulations of subject matter experts for employee interactions, among others.
Rather than leveraging frontier LLMs, Napster customers train their own models and can run them and the Napster platform wherever they like, including on-premises.
However, many Napster customers choose to run the platform on Microsoft Azure, as it runs natively in the Azure cloud. Napster also has a go-to-market partnership with Microsoft that drives much of its business.
Intellyx hot take: Napster’s ability to retain the memory of user interactions across channels enables their avatars to offer a better user experience than many competing avatar offerings on the market.
Intellyx cold take: It is up to Napster’s customers to make best use of the platform. Implementing seamless omnichannel avatars requires careful architecture and deft implementation. Many customers may struggle to take full advantage of what Napster has to offer.
