Traditional Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems, as well as cloud storage apps, corporate portals, and shared directories all manage content based on its location. If every document is filed properly and belongs in only once place, such traditional systems are adequate, but they fall short in today’s complex, hybrid IT world.
To solve this problem, M-Files reinvents ECM by managing what documents and other objects are, rather than where they are located. Leveraging a sophisticated metadata layer, M-Files tags every document with sufficient information to find, work with, and secure it, regardless of its physical location, either on-premises or in any cloud.
M-Files also leverages natural language processing to automatically categorize content, as well as to provide the appropriate context for content based upon each item’s relationship with other items important to the organization.
