Dispersive Technologies: Leveraging Multipath, Split-Traffic Networking for Faster, More Secure SDN

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

On first glance, Dispersive Technologies looks like yet another SD-WAN vendor, but take a peek at their core technology, and a different story emerges.

The core of the vendor’s innovations center on sophisticated multipath, split-traffic networking technologies. Leveraging tech at both layer 2 and layers 3/4 of the OSI stack, Dispersive can split up network traffic, routing each piece of the traffic over dynamically changing routes.

The most straightforward benefits of this capability are security-related, as it prevents man-in-the-middle (MitM) attacks as well as most types of distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks.

Dispersive includes these technologies in three products: an SD-WAN suite, a VPN replacement aimed at mobile devices, and a Critical Infrastructure Software-Defined Network (CISDN) solution for SCADA-dependent companies like power utilities and other industries with critical infrastructure.
