An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
Identity management (IdM, or more commonly, Identity and Access Management, or IAM) is a mature market, with a number of established vendors pitching their wares. However, the existing IdM players fall into three camps: B2B, B2C, and B2E (business to employee).
This market fragmentation provided an opening for Auth0, who built an IdM platform that brings together the three camps into a universal identity management platform for general use.
The company’s strategy for building its customer base: target developers with a comprehensive and extensible SDK that supports all relevant protocols and can connect to anything with an API.
This API support facilitates Auth0’s role in enterprise modernization initiatives, as it can integrate with existing identity stores either as a hybrid IT strategy or as part of a migration plan.
Auth0 can run either on premises or as a SaaS offering in the cloud and is compliant (or soon to be compliant) with several major regulations and compliance standards, including SOC 2, HIPAA, and ISO 27001, among others.
