Octarine Security: Cloud-Native Runtime Security for Kubernetes

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

Octarine Security protects Kubernetes deployments from build to runtime.

It supports the creation of security policies and constraints or ‘guardrails.’ During deployment, Octarine can detect and block threats by inspecting traffic data as well as authenticating and authorizing all entities and activities in the Kubernetes environment.

Octarine takes a cloud-native approach that leverages the Envoy proxy to abstract endpoints via a service mesh. This approach provides workload visibility while establishing cryptographic identity and mutual TLS encryption and authentication, thus preventing unauthorized lateral movement among containers.

Octarine also offers a free risk analysis tool for Kubernetes that runs inside clusters and analyzes manifest files and security settings in order to score the level of risk.
