An Intellyx Brain Candy Update
When we last wrote about Alluxio in November 2019, its focus was on in-memory computing.
Today, Alluxio provides a data abstraction layer that supports multiple analytics and AI use cases, while abstracting legacy data stores like HDFS.
Alluxio manages all data movement, making remote data accessible in the cloud via zero-copy cloud bursting that supports Hive, Presto, and other modern data technologies.
Alluxio’s most recent version includes multiple improvements, including POSIX and Amazon S3 API support, support for AI workloads on GPUs (as well as a new NVIDIA partnership), and storage connectors for the three major public clouds.
