An Intellyx Brain Candy Update
We last covered EvolveWare in November 2021, explaining how its Intellisys platform extracted business rules from legacy applications, converted those rules to XML-based metadata, and then converted those metadata into any of several modern languages.
EvolveWare is now adding the ability for organizations to update existing code during the business rules extraction initiative, thus enabling organizations to proceed with their modernization without having to freeze the code in their legacy applications.
When code updates don’t impact business rules, Intellisys can automatically transfer code updates into the extracted business rules repository. When such overlaps do occur, Intellisys generates a report highlighting the changes for manual processing.
Business rules extraction is appropriate when the legacy application is rules-oriented, for example, for HR benefits applications, insurance processing applications, and the like. In other situations, EvolveWare supports code migration to new architectures.
