Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are often closely related terms to represent the automated ability of a computing system or software to either self-learn or allow itself to be taught new functionality and ‘skills’ by data input, or observation of data over time, with cognitive style understanding and interpretation and decision-making capacity for improvement. There are many technology vendors currently claiming to include some form of AI within their products, but most self-improving systems are actually algorithmic-based.
