Alluxio offers an in-memory, API-based data layer that abstracts diverse file and object storage technologies, both on-premises and in the cloud.
With Alluxio, apps access storage via common APIs that provide a single, consistent interface. Behind the scenes, Alluxio’s technology offers a combination of in-memory caching, asynchronous reads and writes, and policy-based configuration that enables admins to configure workload-specific data placement policies.
Alluxio has gained customer traction among web scale companies, and is rapidly signing up enterprises with data-intensive machine learning and deep learning requirements, among others.
Alluxio’s core software is open source, with an enterprise version that offers better support for clustering and durable high-speed writes.
