Synchrony Systems: Modernizing Legacy Applications Line by Line

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

The Modernization Lifecycle Platform from Synchrony Systems can convert legacy applications in various languages into modern applications by translating their source code line by line.

Source languages include COBOL/PL1, Smalltalk, PowerBuilder, Natural, Notes/Domino, and many others. Target languages are equally diverse: Java, HTML5/CSS 3, Angular.js, Rails, React, and more.

Synchrony takes a model-driven approach, representing code modules abstractly. It can thus change procedural code to object-oriented, remove redundant code, and identify code that will never execute.

Customers can also use the platform to continually update modern code, for example, when there’s an update to a version of Java. As a result, legacy applications are a thing of the past, as Synchrony Systems can keep them updated on an ongoing basis.
