API integration
An API (Application Programming Interface) allows the integration of applications, data and services through a published and documented set of commands, which a developer or API integration tool can call to make requests. The allowed set of API commands can be very limited — for instance, only allowing a request and response from a service for the current time and temperature, or expose much higher amounts of software functionality and controls to the requestor.
